About the role
At Four Seasons Residence Club Aviara, the Accounting Generalist manages the annual assessment billing for the Residence Club according to Four Seasons Hotels Ltd. policies and procedures and oversees the offshore accounting team for the daily income audit and the accounts payable functions. The Accounting Generalist assists the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining proper credit procedures throughout the Club in accordance with both local and Four Seasons Hotels Limited policies and procedures. 

What you will do:

People Functions

• Maintain a harmonious and professional relationship with co-workers, supervisors and all departments.

• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.

• Conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels.

• Assist in other areas of the accounting office as needed.

Product Functions: Accounts Receivable

• Print, prepare and mail statements for annual assessments, follow up on outstanding balances

• Answer guest and credit card inquiries concerning accounts including the documentation and preparation of adjustments, if necessary, on a timely basis

• Prepare and maintain complete, accurate and organized records for all outstanding accounts as directed by the Assistant Director of Finance

• Ensure all Travel Agent payments are properly reviewed/verified, audited and all Travel Agents have valid IATA number (or equivalent) and ensure that payments are not made for non-commissionable transactions and the Travel Agent is eligible to receive payment.

• Oversee the daily income audit process and manage the offshore Capgemini team · Reconcile and prepare tips for payroll processing on bi-weekly basis · Assist the Assistant Director of Finance in the performance of his/her other duties as requested including the following: -

  • Month end Journal entries

  • Credit card reconciliations

  • Monthly account reconciliations

  • Administrative functions

Product Functions: Accounts Payable

• Ensure all payments are made correctly and with the correct authorization (approved PO), evidence of receipt/invoice

• Process emergency Accounts Payable invoices and manual cheques

• Maintain, and constantly update an approved vendor listing file

• Answer telephone and email inquiries related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• File documents and reports

• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance

What you bring:

• High School/College education or equivalent experience

• Minimum three to 12 months experience in related position with Four Seasons or other organization

• Require a working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Four Seasons Internal Controls, Policies and Procedures
