The Opportunity:

Your role at Sephora:
As a Store Designer, you will be focusing on store layouts and designs for the new S@K ‘shop-in-shop’ concept. Reporting to the Manager, Store Design, you will develop feasibility studies and optimal plan layouts for this new concept. In addition, you will: 

• Organize and collaborate with internal Sephora and external Kohl’s business partners through various phases of the projects
• Understand, maintain, and help build schedules as well as have excellent time management skills
• Provide design support, develop design standards, and advise on criteria and specific site conditions
• Create plans and support for bi-annual store optimization retrofit fixture roll out for existing shop-in-shop stores
• Study feasibilities for enhancement projects and create fixture layout plans for existing stores in high volumes
• Provide storefront design guidance to external retailer based on our current Sephora design standards and specific site conditions.  Design for unique conditions as required.  Advocate for the design, ensuring we always put our best foot forward. Assist on special requests as required.
• Have general knowledge of retail industry standards, architectural building & ADA codes, fixture design, merchandise requirements and any other design elements that may need to be incorporated into a project.

We’re excited about you if you have:

• 3-5 years of related experience in Retail Architecture, Retail Design, architectural firms, or similar field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or interior design or equivalent work experience.
• Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
• Make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.  Consider various inputs, criteria, and tradeoffs to arrive at the best decision/recommendation.
• Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
• High level of initiative and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Possesses a high level of curiosity.  Actively seeks new ways to improve their craft. Embraces feedback and loves a challenge.
• Actively demonstrates both creative and analytical skills, detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
• Fluent in the design and construction standards for new stores and fixture initiatives and be diligent in creating store solutions that achieve scope and budget objectives.
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite [In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator].
• Experienced with one or more computer visualization tools [SketchUp, Rhino, 3DS MAX].
• Experienced with project management tools such as Smartsheet, etc a plus
