Job Summary:
The Distribution Center Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining high safety standards, and leading team leads and associates to meet performance goals. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and collaboration across departments to ensure seamless product flow and operational efficiency.
Talent Management & Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop warehouse associates to ensure productivity, accuracy, and safety.
Provide ongoing training and performance feedback, including conducting performance reviews.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure adequate staffing levels and assist with workforce planning to meet operational demands.
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) & Inventory Control
Ensure proper training and utilization of WMS across team.
Regularly monitor system and team performance and assist in identifying inefficiencies and troubleshoot system-related issues.
Identify bottlenecks in workflows and implement process improvements.
Ensure proper processes are being followed for receiving and accurate packing to drive accuracy in inventory levels.
Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational bottlenecks.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take proactive steps to optimize workflow.
Work with leadership to develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure timely order fulfillment by effectively managing workload distribution and priorities.
Safety & Compliance Management
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations; to include initial and routine safety training.
Conduct regular safety audits, provide training, and address any safety concerns.
Ensure warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, scanners) is properly maintained and in working condition; upholding training and certification compliance to power equipment.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and accident prevention.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Work closely with logistics, purchasing, and senior leadership to ensure efficient product flow and inventory availability.
Communicate with distribution center leadership to align on shipment priorities and workforce planning.
QualificationsQualifications:
3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations.
At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience, in a warehouse center setting preferred, with a strong emphasis on managing teams.
Experience working with a WMS platform and inventory control systems
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including shipping/receiving, order picking, inventory management, and safety protocols.
Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment or ability to be certified and operate
Work Environment:
The role may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
Work in various temperature conditions (e.g., climate-controlled or non-climate-controlled warehouses).
May require occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift adjustments during peak seasons.
