Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Sales Leader is responsible for defining and executing the Sam’s Club credit sales strategy by leading a team of Regional Sales Managers, who in turn coach and support Field Sales Managers. This role drives the education and adoption of the Sam’s Club Consumer and Commercial credit programs and ensures the achievement and surpassing of credit application and sales targets within assigned regions.
Location is Bentonville, AR.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, communicate, and execute strategic action plans aligned with business goals to drive sales growth and exceed performance targets.
- Team Leadership and Development: Inspire, coach, and guide Regional Sales Managers to effectively train and motivate their field teams, fostering a high-performance sales culture rooted in continuous learning and achievement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Strengthen partnerships across stakeholders to improve collaboration, align initiatives, and drive integrated program success.
- Sales Performance Management: Own sales forecasting, pipeline management, and delivery of Operating Plan (OP) sales and application goals. Utilize sales management metrics to monitor, analyze, and report performance, and engage client leadership in regular performance reviews.
- Budget Oversight: Manage expense budgets responsibly to optimize resource allocation and meet financial objectives.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key client contacts across the credit and club organization at multiple levels.
- Market Intelligence: Gather and interpret competitive intelligence and market trends to proactively identify opportunities and recommend tactical adjustments to enhance program performance.
- Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects as assigned to support strategic business growth and objectives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience in retail and/or consumer financial services Sales function, or, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/equivalent plus 10 years relevant work experience
Minimum of 5 years developing and leading Sales strategies
Minimum of 3 years Sales Management experience
Based in or willingness to relocate to Bentonville, AR
Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50%+)
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Deep knowledge of wholesale club business and demonstrated success working collaboratively with retail operations to align sales initiatives and performance metrics.
- Knowledge of consumer lending products and credit programs.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive business growth and team success.
- Strong experience leading geographically dispersed sales team.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels to drive change and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, training, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, financial acumen, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Grade/Level: 14
The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.
