From guiding employee-relations cases to shaping talent pipelines and coaching managers, you’ll blend big-picture thinking with hands-on support, ensuring our teams stay engaged, compliant and ready for the next challenge.

Key Responsibilities

1. People Advisory & Support

  • Support, advise and train managers and colleagues on day-to-day people matters, becoming their go-to HR partner.
  • Deliver performance-management training that equips leaders to set crisp objectives, give meaningful feedback and drive performance.
  • Manage employee-relations cases (disciplinaries, grievances & absence) fairly, consistently and in full compliance with legislation and Reel policies.

2. Policy Implementation & Compliance

  • Keep teams updated on employment legislation, ensuring adherence across all sites and departments.

3. Talent Development & Performance

  • Coach and guide managers on performance management, reviews, and development plans.
  • Partner with teams on learning and development programs, ensuring employees have the skills and tools to excel.
  • Drive recruitment efforts, collaborating with managers to identify talent needs and ensure a seamless onboarding experience.

4. Engagement & Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-energy work environment, championing initiatives that promote motivation, belonging, and a strong sense of team spirit – leveraging comms plans, recognition programmes and engagement surveys to keep morale high – in keeping with REEL’s approach/vision/strategy.
  • Encourage open, productive communication and feedback loops, providing insights to leadership on how to enhance employee engagement.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership on pulse-check results, turning feedback into tangible improvements.

5. Data Management & Systems

  • Support and drive usage of the Reel Cinemas HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Work with key stakeholders to monitor and report on key HR metrics to optimize workforce planning and drive productivity.

6. Learning & Development

  • Own the end-to-end L&D agenda, from skills-gap analysis to programme design and delivery, ensuring every team member has the knowledge and tools to shine.
  • Embed a culture of continuous learning—leveraging e-learning, coaching circles and micro-learning—to keep pace with an evolving entertainment industry.
  • Link learning outcomes to commercial goals (e.g., increasing Total Site Revenue,Spend per Head and Catch-rate etc) so training clearly boosts both service quality and revenue.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven HR Expertise: You have strong experience in HR business partnering, with a solid grasp of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Relationship Building: You understand stakeholder management and thrive on collaboration, forging productive relationships with employees at all levels.
