Novant Physician Finder is a cutting-edge digital platform built in collaboration with our partners within the healthcare domain, dedicated to connecting consumers with the right healthcare providers. Our mission is to simplify the process of finding and scheduling appointments with specialized medical professionals. As part of the RVO Health ecosystem, we're committed to improving access to healthcare and enhancing the overall patient experience.
Our team develops sophisticated digital solutions that enable users to search for providers based on specialties, locations, and availability. We build and maintain robust data processing pipelines that handle real-time provider, location, and appointment information. Through advanced ETL processes, we transform this data into structured formats, creating powerful APIs that fuel our downstream products.
As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and optimizing our backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs. You'll work in a collaborative, agile environment, interfacing with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that make a real difference in people's lives.
Where You'll Be
To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on a hybrid in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our South Charlotte office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Go or Node.js/TypeScript
- Architect and implement real-time data processing pipelines for provider, location, and appointment data
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and design teams to define and implement new features
- Optimize database queries and structures in PostgreSQL for efficient data retrieval and storage
- Develop and maintain AWS-based infrastructure to support our applications and services
- Implement event data pipelines to analyze and drive traffic to our products
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical decision-making processes
- Work closely with partner teams to integrate our services and ensure seamless data flow
- Continuously improve our systems' performance, scalability, and reliability
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in backend development and cloud architecture
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in backend development, preferably with Go or Node.js/TypeScript
- Strong understanding of AWS architecture and services
- Proficiency in working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with real-time data processing and ETL pipelines
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Passion for healthcare technology and improving patient experiences
Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company. The following benefits are provided by RVO Health, subject to eligibility requirements.
- Starting Salary: $118,000 - $158,000*
