Position Details:
The Director, Branch Strategy reports directly to the VP, Branch Network. You will lead a team that creates and implements innovative supply chain and customer experience solutions for the Branch Network by applying research, advanced analytics, and experimentation. These solutions are integrated into platforms for continuous improvement. The Branch Network is comprised of 300 plus Branches and On-Site locations supporting 2,000+ team members. Preferred candidate location is near Chicago / Lake Forest, IL.
You Will:
- Gather and synthesize internal and external information to identify and prioritize opportunities for the Branch Network to improve supply chain and customer experience.
- Determine cost, service, and customer experience impacts of ideas.
- Facilitate conversations with other functions to identify strategy and alignment issues and opportunities.
- Own the process and thought leadership of transforming data and ideas into actionable insights.
- Articulate and present complex concepts and recommendations in an understandable way.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery and technical change management process that encompasses research, design, testing, scaling, and implementation.
- Create a pipeline and destination for creative, curious, and analytical talent.
You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or graduate degree in quantitative field preferred.
- Supply chain design, customer experience design, forecasting, data science, simulation, and/or operations research knowledge.
- Strong quantitative skills and experience leading quantitative teams.
- Leverage financial, quantitative, and qualitative information to make decisions.
- Experience dissecting complex business processes to determine when advanced analytics can be used to arrive at a recommendation.
- Executive level presence with the ability to present to executive leaders, including the Board of Directors and Grainger Leadership Team.
- Experience attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
- Driven team player with enthusiasm to carry out difficult tasks to the end.
- Skills in leading teams through change.
