Position Summary:
Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the sales field and are responsible for assisting in driving new sales opportunities. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. The Application Engineer works with the Design Team, product suppliers, and technical services to put together designs complete with scopes of work that meet customer requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with functional, technical, labor, and pricing elements of RFIs/RFPs as requested.
• Serve as a point of contact for special products and sales application knowledge for designated sales representatives and customers with unique requirements. While articulating technology and product solutions.
• Provide design and specification development support to eligible sales representatives for targeted customers on agreement preparation o fit the specific need being addressed.
• Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts, and correspondence in company-approved databases for eligible sales representatives and targeted accounts.
• Experience in job costing and effectively managing margins before integration.
• Perform Agreement Template product training for eligible sales representatives, Sales Support, and branch personnel on targeted accounts, and engineers at targeted accounts.
• Maintain professional business relationships with Sales Teams, Operations, and targeted Customers.
• Provide ongoing support of projects working with field delivery.
• Identify process from integration to completion in order alleviate margin erosion.
• Supervise and manage other targeted customers within the Application Engineer team template
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• BA/BS in Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar control industry role.

Experience:

• 3-5 years in industry in security industry or systems integrations
• Experience in managing projects to 100K
• Proven Project Management skills as it relates to job costing management, inventory delivery, and planning.
• Design knowledge using applications such as Bluebeam, Vizio, System Surveyor
• Application programming and technical support experience
• Knowledge of basic applications of NFPA standards of fire alarm systems and requirements for submittals and permitting.
• Knowledge of methods and practices used to evaluate and interpret data and compile written reports in a narrative and/or statistical form.
• Industry knowledge of fire systems as it relates to Bosch, Potter, Honeywell, Edwards, Honeywell.
• Industry knowledge of access systems as it relates to Brivo, Genetec, Lenel, Software house, Honey.
• Industry knowledge of burglary systems as it relates to Honeywell, Bosch, DMP, DSC, and NAPCO.
• Industry knowledge of video systems as it relates to Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Genetec, Solink.
