About the role

Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. The Opportunity: 

Revolution Medicines is seeking a motivated individual with a background in the life sciences industry or public accounting to play a critical role in the accounting team. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, this newly created role will assist in ensuring compliance with SEC reporting requirements and to ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley Act (“SOX”) alongside leading the controls implementations/modifications for any new ERPs and systems. This role is an individual contributor with team leadership responsibilities.

  • Support the company's quarterly and annual external financial reporting processes, including the preparation and tie-outs of the company’s 10-Ks, 10-Qs, earnings releases, and annual proxy statements.

  • Collaborating with the company’s external and internal auditors and the legal team to ensure external reporting compliance.

  • Complete quarterly and annual disclosure checklists and ensure that financial disclosures comply with US GAAP and SEC requirements.

  • Coordinate PBC deliverables with members of the team and facilitate efficient completion of interim/annual audit procedures.

  • Support the development and maintenance of corporate entity internal controls required for SOX compliance, including the risk control matrix, narratives etc.

  • Conduct reviews of process and control documentation for assigned key controls and assist with PBC deliverables for the internal auditors.

  • Lead the controls implementations/modifications for any new ERPs and systems and work with stakeholders across the company to ensure controls are properly identified, evaluated, and validated for each new ERP/systems implementations/modifications.

  • Support business needs by researching and resolving technical accounting matters, and general corporate accounting matters.

  • Performing ad hoc projects as assigned and assisting on projects with various accounting team members.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA qualified.

  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404, and experience with SEC reporting requirements.

  • 5+ years accounting experience in public accounting or corporate accounting.

  • Strong organizational, high diligence and project management skills.

  • Ability to interpret and document the applicability of accounting principles and financial reporting/disclosure requirements.

  • Flexible/collaborator, who is comfortable changing directions mid-stream and understands the importance of achieving team objectives.

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Excel and Microsoft Office products.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience driving systems implementations.

  • Experience with Active Disclosure.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000 to $170,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the minimum and maximum salary for the position in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
