As a Pharmacy Intern at Hillcrest Hospital, you will receive comprehensive cross-training across all areas of pharmacy practice while supporting one of Cleveland Clinic’s largest regional hospitals. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in medication preparation and distribution, retrieving medications from carousel systems and ensuring timely delivery to patient care areas. You’ll also assist in maintaining smooth workflow by supplying IV room technicians with necessary medications. Hillcrest Hospital’s broad range of specialty departments and complex cases offers an exceptional environment for learning and professional growth.
This is a PRN position. A caregiver in this role will work 2 on-call expectations per year, every other week and about 4-6 shifts per month.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug related issues.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and prepare medications for delivery to patient care areas.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy Program meeting education requirements to qualify for an Intern License in the State of Ohio OR international pharmacy experience meeting the requirements to qualify for the Foreign Graduate Pharmacy Intern License
- Current State Board of Pharmacy Intern License (PH/INT) before hire
