Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Manager to lead the Airborne Warning And Control System (AWACS) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Integrated Product Team in Oklahoma City, OK.  The selected candidate will provide leadership for a multitude of military commercial derivative aircraft platforms recognized around the world.  This position will lead a customer-focused team providing systems engineering and systems integration.

Management responsibilities include mentoring and coaching all levels of engineers to guide knowledge transfer to our next generation of technical leaders and engineers.  Responsibilities also include managing resources and taskings for the daily engineering assignments that deal with the AWACS Aircraft within the Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers Division. The technical area of focus for engineering will be in systems engineering-focused product development, from requirements architecture and decomposition, to integration, testing, verification and certification of aircraft. This position will be responsible to ensure achievable plans are in place for the Program SEIT teams and will be responsible for the execution of the SEIT work statement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and mid-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering and Integration.
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.
  • The ideal candidate will excel in both the engineering technical acumen/excellence required for this role while creating and executing plans for the Systems Engineering and Integration Team. As the SEIT IPT Leader, the candidate shall be an engaging and motivating people leader, including committing to:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Currently or have been certified as a Control Account Manager within an Earned Value Management System

  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience.
