Senior System Engineer

<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong><strong> </strong></p> <ul> <li>Technical installations and upgrades of our software at our customer sites</li> <li>Creating the installation scripts for our software packages GLIMS, CyberLab and SampleNet. Your team will use these scripts to deploy our software in Europe.</li> <li>Assisting in defining the hardware specifications for our software</li> <li>Assisting in benchmarking our software on different hardware</li> <li>Troubleshooting and solving technical system issues at our customer site (Example: Performance troubleshooting in the network of virtual servers at our customers)</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong> </strong><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Operating systems - Windows, Unix, Linux</li> <li>Networking basics - TCP/IP, routers, firewall</li> <li>Systems and network architecture</li> <li>Scripting on Unix</li> <li>Hardware - Servers, PC, Storage systems (NAS, SAN)</li> <li>Affinity with Software Packages and their installation</li> <li>Knowledge of Progress or SQL Server Database</li> <li>Knowledge of Oracle Database Clustering systems</li> <li>Virtualisation system : VMware, Citrix, Terminal Server</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p>
