Responsible for the day-to-day operations of multiple clerical functions and a variety of administrative support staff within area(s) of responsibility. Provides oversight and work direction to clerical/administrative support staff.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinates operational workflow of clerical/administrative support staff. Distributes workload and staff assignments as necessary for optimum efficiency.
- Assists the supervisor/manager with human resource responsibilities for clerical staff, which may include interviewing and selection of new employees, new employee orientation, staff development, providing performance feedback, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale.
- Serves as a resource for department staff, including problem solving, policy and procedure interpretation, customer relations, promotion of service management, and implementation of department changes.
- Supports department leaders with requests for special projects, which may include gathering, compiling or summarizing data.
- Performs administrative support duties for areas of responsibilities based on department needs.
- Monitors department office equipment and troubleshoots minor problems. Independently arranges for routine maintenance or repairs.
- Maintains daily clerical staffing levels along with vacation and holiday scheduling.
- Oversees the ordering of department supplies. Maintains awareness of budget constraints for supplies.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- High School Graduate.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in clerical/administrative support.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Intermediate to advanced word-processing and spreadsheet skills.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated project coordination, leadership, and organization skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and lift frequently throughout the workday.
- Occasionally lifts items weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
Pay Range
