We are looking to add a Senior Cultural Resources Specialist who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! This position could be located in any of our Twin Cities offices.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Responsible for overseeing surveys, excavations, and reporting
- Assist project managers in preparing scopes of work, budgets, and business development opportunities for cultural resources-related services
- Writes, reviews, and/or assesses cultural resources reports prior to client or agency submittals
- Able to work independently and with other team members
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with relevant state, federal, and tribal agencies
- Coordinates and communicates with representatives from various local, state, federal, and tribal agencies
- Oversees analysis and documentation of precontact and historic sites, artifacts, and/or architectural history properties
- Supports negotiations with state, federal, or tribal agencies regarding cultural resources impacts and mitigation strategies
- Mentors and trains new team members
- Travels periodically to work sites and other project-related locations
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology from an accredited college or university or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred) and five (5) or more years of related experience – OR – ten (10) or more years of related experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of state and regional prehistory, history, diagnostic artifacts, and architectural styles
- Understands and follows Federal Regulations, Laws, and Executive Orders pertaining to environmental review processes and cultural resources
- Understands and follows State Laws and regulations pertaining to environmental review processes and cultural resources
- Ability to read and interpret USGS topographic maps, aerial images, and other historic maps and plans
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication
- Good time management, organizational and problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
- General knowledge and skills in GIS and its planning uses
- Possess valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Bolton & Menk will currently not be providing visa sponsorship or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
Salary Range: $66,500 - $86,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
Bolton & Menk is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to specific geographic location. Bolton & Menk reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
