Quality Assurance Inspector and Process Trainer

JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Inspector and Process Trainer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in incoming goods as well as oversees the training process for all distribution center operators to optimize our distribution operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection and Compliance
• Inspect incoming goods to verify quality and compliance with company standards and specifications.
• Document inspection results, identifying defects, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues.
• Analyze and troubleshoot quality issues, coordinating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare chargeback documentation and issue chargebacks to suppliers when quality standards are not met.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain accurate and detailed QA records, facilitating traceability and compliance reporting.
• Work with internal teams to recommend improvements in product quality and supply chain efficiency.
Process Training and Implementation
• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive training program for distribution center operators, ensuring a standardized approach to all warehouse processes.
• Conduct onboarding training for new hires, including equipment operation, safety protocols, quality inspection procedures, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with Corporate Training Manger to design and update training materials, including visual aids, written guides, and hands-on modules, to keep pace with changing processes and technologies.
• Train and certify operators on safe and efficient operation of machinery and handling of goods in compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
• Monitor and assess operator performance, providing retraining or corrective coaching as needed.
• Coordinate with distribution center management to identify and address ongoing training needs.
Cross-Functional Communication and Continuous Improvement
• Serve as the liaison between quality assurance, operations, and suppliers to drive timely resolution of quality issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify process improvement opportunities, focusing on efficiency and quality assurance best practices.
• Actively participate in quality and safety meetings, providing insights into common issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
• Contribute to the development of quality standards and processes, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and company objectives.
Reporting and Data Management
• Utilize data and QA metrics to report on trends, training effectiveness, and product quality, making recommendations for improvements.
• Maintain training records, including certification and recertification tracking, for all distribution center employees.
• Support internal and external audits as needed, ensuring compliance with quality management systems and distribution center processes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in quality assurance, inspection, or process training in a distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing setting.
• Certification in quality or process training (such as CQI or OSHA) is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Strong knowledge of warehouse and distribution processes, including equipment operation and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience in training and presenting to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with quality inspection methods and tools; experience in troubleshooting and corrective action processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or quality management software is preferred.
• Good verbal and written skills
• Strong writing skills, documentation, sop, technical writing.
• Ability to travel between various Mason Companies locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed and stand for extended periods during inspections.
• Comfortable working in a distribution center environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and moving equipment.
