Job Summary:

The Javelin & Maneuvers Systems portfolio within the Land & Air Defense Systems (L&ADS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) has a Principal Specialist Cost Controls opportunity to support this high-demand portfolio within the Precision Fires & Maneuvers (PF&M) Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU). This program cost controls role will join the team in support of the high visibility Javelin and XM-30 Development contracts. These programs deliver capability modernization to the US Army and +20 International FMS Customers through a Joint venture entity for Javelin and as a subcontractor for XM-30.

The product line is in a significant growth phase, delivering anti-tank and unmanned solutions to the US warfighter and international allies.

In this role you can expect to have frequent interaction and collaboration with various functions (finance, engineering, operations, contracts, and program office) and multiple levels of leadership which will require you to possess strong presentation and communication skills and have a strong understanding of financial performance management and processes.

This role is being offered as hybrid and is based in Tucson, AZ. The preferred candidate will align with the team that currently works 2-3 days in the office depending on activity and events taking place. Relocation assistance is being offered.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Business partner to Javelin & XM-30 programs and ~4 finance professionals

  • Finance lead for Javelin G-Model Program

  • Manage the program’s financial performance baseline, Earned Value Management System and monitor the monthly earned value cost and schedule.

  • Preparation of various finance charts for Program Management reviews, financial overviews, and other financial reporting activities

  • Coordination and development of quarterly Estimates at Complete (EACs)

  • Program level financial planning & support to AOP, LRP and monthly forecasts

  • Participation in key leadership strategy reviews

  • Full spectrum exposure to program life cycle & gates, including program close-out (Gate 11), proposal development (Gate 3 & 4), and program start-up (Gate 5)

  • Support development of financial external deliverables

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires 5 years of relevant professional work experience; OR and Advanced degree and 3 years of relevant professional work experience

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field

  • Experience with EVMS (or similar process); or ability to achieve EVMS certification within 3 months of hiring

  • Experience with Program Controls (Cost/Schedule) and/or EAC Process

  • Experience with financial planning & analysis (FP&A)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business partnering experience (across multiple functional disciplines)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Comfortable working independently and in a team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines

  • Must be independent and self-motivated

  • Proactive and motivated attitude towards learning

  • SAP APEX EV & PMX accounting system & Analysis for Office reports experience

  • Earned Value Certification

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Working knowledge of Raytheon financial and accounting policies and procedures

  • Works under general direction and participates in determining objectives of assignment

  • Continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively
