About the role

Job Summary

Under general supervision, and following established procedures, performs a variety of technical interventional radiologic procedures on pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, using standard, portable, and/or specialized X-Ray equipment in order to provide information for physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of patients' illnesses and injuries. Has knowledge of all aseptic and sterile technique to assist physician from an operational and infection control perspective. Performs all radiography when needed.

Essential Functions

  • Explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.

  • Preparing equipment for use as needed. Proficient in the use of a C-arm

  • Preparing examination rooms for patient exams.

  • Positioning patients for imaging exams.

  • Monitoring patients during exams.

  • Prepares procedure table including all catheters, guidewires, medical devices and any other needs based on the physician's instructions.

  • Understands, all interventional inventory and is responsible for procurement, keeping par levels and monitoring to assure expirations do not occur.

  • Performs all duties in an aseptic and/or sterile environment as per infection control guidelines.

  • Documenting information with computers.

  • Reporting important information to the physician.

  • Ensuring safety of patients during exams.

  • Producing diagnostic images of soft tissues.

  • Administering targeted doses of radiation to the patient’s body to treat cancer or other diseases.

Minimum Education/Certifications

Graduate of 2-year AMA approved Certificate program or A.A.S. Degree in Radiologic Technology, Interventional experience preferred.

Certification and in possession of a current NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) license in Diagnostic Radiography and in addition The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT Certification)

BLS CPR by American Heart Association (AHA).

Minimum Work Experience

Demonstrated competency in CT Imaging with a minimum of two years’ experience as an X-Ray Technologist

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed

The salary range does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation which can be discussed in detail with your talent acquisition specialist.


 The salary/hourly rate range for this position is: $48/hr-$50/hr
