At GDIT, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation and play a meaningful part in improving how agencies operate as we provide enterprise IT operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Automated Biometric Identification System (IDENT), the Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) system, and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Cloud Engineer Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of DHS and OBIM.
● Maintain HPG web services, certificates, and the Identifier Broker, ensuring robust functionality within secure cloud-based frameworks
● Support incident response and troubleshooting
● Deploys and troubleshoots HPG certificates
● Ensures or supports compliance with DHS Cybersecurity Policy, IT Cloud Governance, and Configuration Management standards
● Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for support configuration changes to message comparison software
● Provide on-call support to incident response and triage across cross-functional teams
● Collaborate with O&M team and stakeholders to deliver outcome-based solutions aligned with customer requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cloud Engineer Principal must have:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 8+ years of related experience
● Technical skills: experience operating and maintaining production and development cloud environments and providing other enterprise-level O&M support for the Homeland Advanced Recognition Technology (HART) system, especially HART Proxy Gateway (HPG); experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, Ansible, OpenShift, and AWS EC2 and S3
● Security clearance level: Public Trust (DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability)
● US citizenship required
● Role requirements: work location - any CONUS home/remote; experience briefing or communicating issues/problems and outcome-based solutions, plans, progress, and results clearly and succinctly to program management and to Government supervisors/managers or technical staff; adept at problem-solving, troubleshooting, collaboration, time management, multi-tasking, and task-ownership; excellent oral and written communication skills; and possesses a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative requiring minimal supervision
● Preferred Skills: 10+ years of related experience; degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience; knowledge and/or expertise with Docker, Jenkins, GitLab, SonarQube, CyberArk, Maestro, Confluence, and/or Jira; and certifications in ITIL v4, SAFe Agile Framew
