About the role

Description

abra Professional Services is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join a technology infrastructure team within a large-scale enterprise IT division.

In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for end-to-end system operations, including installations, troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and project management across physical and virtual environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize large-scale virtual and physical server environments.
  • Oversee core infrastructure systems including Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Exchange, and VDI solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell for system management and efficiency.
  • Lead infrastructure, upgrade, and migration projects independently from concept to deployment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with security, networking, and software development teams to deliver technical solutions.
  • Provide high-level support for system administrators, end-users, and external vendors.

Requirements

Education:

An Academic Degree or Practical Engineer diploma (Handasai) in IT, Technology, or Industrial Engineering & Management AND at least 4 years of experience as a System Specialist in a large enterprise.

OR

Graduate of relevant professional IT/System courses (minimum 600 cumulative hours) AND at least 6 years of experience as a System Specialist in a large enterprise.

OR

At least 8 years of hands-on experience as a System Specialist in a large enterprise.

Technical Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience in a large organization (1,000+ employees) managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO environments.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience writing complex PowerShell scripts for automation and infrastructure management.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with SCCM and Microsoft Intune (including software deployment, patch management, and configuration).
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience with VMware Horizon VDI environments (including hands-on management, maintenance, and support utilizing App Volumes and DEM).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience independently leading infrastructure projects (implementations, upgrades, or migrations).
  • Good understanding of Azure AD and hybrid cloud solutions.
