We are seeking a Restaurant Server (Full-Time) to support the Restaurant team at our JUSTIN Estate (Chimney Rock location). The Restaurant Server is responsible for the serving of food, wine and attending to the needs of winery guests within the following formats: Lunch, Dinner, and Events, both on-sight and off-sight. This person will support needed side duties to prepare and break down for dinner service and is expected to support the front-of-the-house team in exceeding guest expectations. This position is based at the JUSTIN Estate: 11680 Chimney Rock Road, Paso Robles, CA. The typical work schedule is 3:00 PM - closing. This is a full-time position, and the ideal candidate must be available to work late nights and weekends.
Job Description
- Execute a fine dining experience that aligns with the JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery’s mission statement and core values
- Maintain JUSTIN standards and operate in accordance with Forbes 5-Star or equivalent standards
- Set up and break down the Dining Room and Kitchen Pass for service, which may involve polishing, table setup, and and beverage station setup
- Ensure compliance of all opening and closing duties as determined and published by the Restaurant Manager
- Prior to service, consult with the Chefs regarding menu changes, modifications to service standards and any information about the sourcing of menu items
- After service, prepare all guest checks, allocate appropriate gratuities to the bi-weekly Gratuity Report, assess wine consumption for inventory, reset the dining room, and complete all other closing side work
- Attend staff Hospitality meetings
- Assists with the monthly inventory of both JUSTIN Wine and Non-JUSTIN Wine
- Conduct weekly inventory checks on glasses, flatware, dining room accessories, and linens
- Communicate any dining room supply needs to the Restaurant Manager
- Continually educate and inform oneself of all new JUSTIN releases as well as JUSTIN Library wines, viticulture, and winemaking techniques
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of fine-dining restaurant experience in an upscale environment
- Food Handlers Card or Serv Safe required
- Genuine understanding of the importance of providing outstanding customer service
- Grace under pressure; a strong sense of urgency, insistent attention to detail, with a desire to exceed customers’ expectations
- A thorough understanding of food, including origins, prep methods and techniques, ingredients, and ingredient combinations
- Strong food vocabulary and the ability to understand a sophisticated food menu
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Must be willing to work flexible hours/late shifts, weekends, and holidays
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour plus tips per shift. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
