About the role

The Global Procurement Excellence, Strategy, Transformation, Acceleration and Compliance Director will be responsible for bringing the best in class for systems, procedures, cost competitiveness and compliance. This person will need to define the best strategies together with their peers to transform the department into a credible, sustainable and competitive way ensuring we apply the same standards in all plants, regions and businesses. This role ensures state of the art procurement practices through governance, digital transformation, and performance management.

General Responsibilities
• Directs, evaluate, and develop a team of purchasing staff to ensure the team's resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met
• Oversees plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing purchasing activities
• Oversees policies, checklists, and other materials that describe the organization's technical, quality, service, or reliability standards to help purchasing staff evaluate supplier proposals
• Oversees team of buyers to ensure they follow established procedures and policies
• Direct and evaluate the organization's overall purchasing trends to potential bulk purchases
• Direct active involvement with other departments to ensure the achievement of the company goals

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Define and implement global purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.

    • Develop the standard Purchasing Strategy method for the Business Group, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.

    • Redesign operating models, including roles, responsibilities, and governance frameworks.

  • Purchasing Excellence

    • Establish and coordinate standardized processes across the Global Business Group, promoting consistency, scalability, and efficiency.

    • Promote process standardization and automation to enhance efficiency.

    • Lead the design of the global monitoring of Supply Chain crisis, ensuring resilience and continuity for the Business Group.

  • Performance Management & Costing

    • Establish and monitor KPIs for cost, cash, quality, and sustainability.

    • Ensure accurate data collection and reporting for decision-making.

    • Define the costing strategy.

  • Transformation & Innovation

    • Coordinate strategic transformation across multiple Commodities on a global scale.

    • Define and lead the Data Management and Digitalization strategy, enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency.

    • Champion the AI and Generative AI transformation within the Purchasing function, positioning the organization at the forefront of digital innovation.

    • Integrate sustainability criteria (e.g., CO₂ reduction) into sourcing strategies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to drive change and innovation.

    • Facilitate global networks and knowledge-sharing across purchasing teams.

  • Compliance and Procedures

    • Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to ensure all contracts are up to date, signed and aligned with our legal expectations. Also will monitor and correct when it`s needed that all BU`s & plants are following the right procedures.
