The Cash Applications Associate will be responsible for ensuring that customer payments and credits are applied to open receivables in accordance with Elastic’s cash application policies. They will work closely with up and downstream teams to ensure that processes and procedures are performed in accordance with policies and controls.

Our business is growing very quickly and while you will be empowered to take ownership of your work product, there will be times that action will be required without extensive up-front guidance, but you would never go at it alone!
What You Will Be Doing:
- Accurately apply cash payment receipts in a high-volume business segment
- Ensure all lockbox batches, checks and bank accounts are posted and applied to invoices accurately by EOD to meet same day posting SLA
- Research and resolve payment issues/disputes on customer accounts
- Inform Collections of customer account problems and unresolved cash application claims within a timely manner
- Work closely with Collections team to resolve invoice corrections along with movement of payments from one subsidiary to another
- Clean up Aging by identifying and resolving short paid invoices (bank fees, tax withholding, etc.)
- Reconcile Credit Card transaction to the bank statements and CC gateway platform
- Perform ad hoc projects as necessary
- Create Journal Entries to properly allocate payments to correct customer account
- Take ownership of any relevant Cash Apps processes
- Assist core accounting team if and as needed

You have experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, global environment and you are no stranger to building and optimizing the processes necessary to keep us growing without stumbling. If that's you, hopefully you also have:
- 2+ years of professional experience in AR, Cash Applications and ideally a Degree in Accounting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent accuracy and strong attention-to-detail
- Strong ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines
- Accustomed to working with multiple stakeholders to resolve issues in a distributed, fast-paced environment
- General Ledger journal entry and balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, G-Suite applications
Bonus Points: Experience with general ledger reconciliations as well as foreign currency and multiple international subsidiaries EMEA, APAC, NA. Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce.
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
