Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
Join our growing team responsible for maintaining and improving heavy steel processing equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and improving mechanical systems that support critical production operations. The successful candidate is a self-driven industrial maintenance mechanic who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, minimizing downtime, working alongside electrical technicians and operators, and improving equipment reliability.

Primary Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, and power transmission equipment.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems including cylinders, valves, pumps, filters, hoses, regulators, and actuators.
- Perform precision alignment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
- Replace bearings, seals, shafts, rollers, wear components, and mechanical assemblies.
- Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as required.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic diagrams, OEM manuals, and assembly drawings.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Work closely with electrical technicians during major repairs, installations, and equipment upgrades.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Participate in equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and communicate effectively across departments.
- Ability to use a computer to write daily reports, respond to emails, and search for replacement parts.
- Responsible for proper care and cleanliness of tools, equipment, materials, and work area.
- Responsible for providing coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians..
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting ability with rotating equipment and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and power transmission equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Mechanical apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and job-related internet research.

• Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: tight spaces, working at heights, dusty/dirty areas, around heavy machinery, and wear hard-hats and ear-plugs.
