About the role

Purpose of the position

 

HIAB’s Loader Cranes Light & Medium division is seeking a visionary Director, Global Product Management Loader Cranes to join our team.


In this strategic role, you’ll be responsible for driving an exceptional customer experience across the entire product lifecycle. You'll lead the development of market-leading solutions that empower both our customers and our organization to achieve ambitious success targets.

 

The role may also be based at other HIAB locations outside of Sweden.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Product Planning

 

  • Portfolio management - Ensure the product portfolio is aligned with the divisional strategy. Owns and executes the divisional product roadmap through stakeholder management
  • Product Architecture - Deep knowledge of architecture, configurations and options


Product Lifecycle Management

 

  • Product Lifecycle Management - Take clear fact fact-based actions to improve product performance through the lifecycle
  • TCO (total cost of ownership) - Quantifiable tools to measure TCO to understand, improve, and communicate differentiated value through the lifecycle
  • Complexity reductions - Process of continuous improvement through standard work to manage complexity


Product development & Introduction

 

  • Product development - Full accountability for outcome. As a sponsor, uses experience to manage risks, remove roadblocks and ensure objectives are met
  • Product requirement management - Ensure requirements support the business case and are driven cross-functionally


Customer & Market Insights

 

  • Voice of customer - Deep understanding and application of VOC methodology to identify unmet and unstated needs
  • Market knowledge and external environment - Assimilation of key external factors to make strategic decisions on product strategy and roadmap 


Cross-Functional Knowledge

 

  • Supply chain and manufacturing process -Influence manufacturing and sourcing strategy to deliver a competitive advantage in the product offering
  • Engineering Processes - Influencing and partnership to prioritise work. Ensure capabilities align with the demands of the product roadmap 
  • Lean methodologies - Basic understanding of lean principles
  • Sales and marketing process - Driving initiatives with accountability for product growth. Influence the route to market


Value Proposition

 

  • Value Selling - Deep understanding to train others, practicing across the portfolio and tailored to specific customer needs
  • Value-based pricing - Able to apply fully quantified value calculations and apply to pricing decisions and market communication 


General

 

  • Financial understanding - Accountability for product P&L and working capital with a strong understanding of drivers and levers. Critically evaluate business cases
  • Project management - Act as effective project sponsor and steerco member to remove roadblocks and asses resources and manage risks
  • Cross-functional influencing -Driving and leading cross-functional activities to deliver an outcome 
  • Data analysis - Proficient in spreadsheets and other analytical tools.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field

 

Experience:

 

  • Multiple years of experience in the PM function
  • Experience in a multinational working environment
  • Preferably some experience in on-road load handling systems (or similar heavy equipment)
  • Track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
