Director - Perinatal Services

Collaborate with Seattle Children's and University of Washington Department of Fetal Surgery leadership, Medical Director MFM and OB Services, Perioperative Services, Nursing to oversee, assess and enhance the provision of patient care services in the Perinatal Care Unit on a 24/7 basis to meet continuous quality improvement, customer service, program growth and support the mission of Seattle Children's Hospital.
The perinatal director is responsible for the day-to-day clinical nursing functions of the Special Perinatal Unit and Services. Accountable for support development of nursing care model for patients undergoing special delivery service. Develop, implement and monitor staffing plans, scheduling and staff development to meet current and anticipated needs and to maintain compliance with patient safety and regulatory requirements.

Required Education and Experience
A Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing; may be substituted with a Master’s in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field provided the candidate also possesses a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing (Candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program or higher will be considered provided they also possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Must complete the program within three years in position and maintain solid performance) Minimum of five (5) years of OB nursing leadership experience. Minimum four (4) years labor and delivery experience. Experience working in a matrixed environment. Experience building and launching new programs, designing strategic initiatives, and developing strategic partnerships
Required Credentials
Current Washington State RN license or Multistate (MSL) RN license. A copy of a Master’s degree or higher in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of a Master's degree or higher in nursing is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. If a Master's degree is in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, a copy of the degrees or transcripts indicating attainment of a Master's degree or higher and Bachelor's in Nursing degree is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. If a Master's degree or higher is in process, a copy of the Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing and a notation of the expected Master's completion date is to be on file with Human Resources upon hire. Nursing or healthcare related professional board certification in a clinical specialty area or leadership on hire or must be obtained within three (3) years of hire and must be maintained thereafter. Certification must be recognized by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) and approved by Seattle Children's Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. This is a condition of hire and must be maintained at all times. Pediatric Emergency, Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers. (Note: Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position). ACLS will not be accepted as a substitute to the requirements listed above. ACLS and NRP certification at time of hire or within 3 months of hire and must be maintained at all times thereafter. As per the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for RN's performing moderately complex point of care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement to be on record with Human Resources upon hire. For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency.

Compensation Range
$176,450.00 - $264,674.00 per yearSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
