If you answered yes to the above questions, then this position may be the perfect role for you.  What to expect as a “Senior QA Technician” in WatchGuard:A quality assurance technician oversees the testing procedures conducted in software development, ensuring technical accuracy and efficiency. They are primarily responsible for working alongside software designers and quality engineers, reviewing quality control reports, inspecting specifications, and devising test procedures. Moreover, it is also essential to troubleshoot issues and identify any inconsistencies or bugs. As someone with more experience in the team, they must supervise and serve as a mentor to other quality assurance engineers in the joint effort to develop efficient software. As a Senior QA Technician, you will promote and ensure the software quality of our products and technologies. You will be a key contributor to the entire engineering team by not only assuring high-quality code but helping your teammates do so as well, by mentoring and providing support whenever needed. You’ll work across the engineering team interacting with developers and other QA Technicians in gathering and executing those product requirements promptly. You will find great excitement and passion in being challenged, can find, evaluate, and leverage new technologies and have a love for solving complex problems.

30/60/90 Plan

• At 30 days – This is a training period. Will be trained in the tools, systems, methods and the way the team works. Will be involved in the daily tasks of the team.
• At 60 days – Training continues. Will start helping team members with their assignments. Will start working on the development of new test cases.
• At 90 days – Training continues. Will start working in its own projects based on prioritized needs. You will be able to understand the current certification processes, execute them, analyze the results and propose improvements, and work on the development of new projects.

Position Responsibilities

• Reviews and validates requirements and technical specifications.
• Develops and executes test plans and detailed test cases based on requirements.
• Documents results; offer observations or improvements after analysis of test results and overall product quality.
• Collaborates with the development team on bug fix verification and validation (regression testing)
• Communicates professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization.
• Supports, designs, develops, and enhances test processes and reporting for QA processes.
• Manages testing efforts across many varied projects and tasks under tight deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications

• Python programming languages.
• Other programming and scripting languages ​​(.Net, Java, Robotframework, Javascript, VBscript, powersell, etc).
• Jenkins
• Virtualization and emulation.
• Additional knowledge on other platforms will be valued: Linux/Mac/Android…
• Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, draws valid conclusions, and provides solutions.
• Identifies, communicates, and escalates issues as required.
• A team player and self-starter who will work side by side with the development team.
• Be assertive, high energy, self-motivated with strong team spirit.

Experience

• At least 5-year experience in QA testing.
• Expert in scripting programming languages
• Familiarity with Kanban and Scrum Software Development Methodologies
• Experience with integration testing between applications/technologies
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough working knowledge of software testing methodologies and the testing life cycle
• Project Management and Software Development Methodologies
• Desire to learn new technologies.
