The Engineer II FPGA / ASIC works with a team of engineers on electronic control units for aerospace applications to complete CPLD and FPGA designs, simulations, synthesis, and lab integration. Examples include processor card interfaces for digital and analog input/output (I/O), digital and analog control of off system sensors and electromechanical interface devices (EMIDs), I/O card FPGA controllers, specialty test FPGA controllers for cards and designs supporting vertical lift helicopter, fixed wing, engine, weapons, cargo, missile, & special test equipment controllers.
The Engineer II FPGA / ASIC supports the entire design life cycle from proposals and project planning efforts to entry into service and production transition support, including requirements definition using DOORS, detailed design, validation of requirements and verification of implementation. The Senior Engineer FPGA / ASIC assists investigation into problem reports from manufacturing and customers on fielded units.
What You Will Do
You will lead the requirements management, design, and development of assigned components, ensuring that all aspects of conception, procurement, manufacturing, and qualification are executed efficiently.
You will work closely with a team to meet defined requirements, mitigate risks, and ensure milestones are achieved.
You will manage the resources required to ensure timely completion of all phases of the project.
You will collaborate with the IPD team to review customer requirements, ensuring they are clear, achievable, and aligned with project goals.
You will address any revisions needed with the Design, Structures, and Systems Engineering teams and manage any issues or risks that arise, ensuring any deviations are properly documented and approved.
You will work closely with design, drafting, structures, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure that component designs and detailed drawings are completed on time, aligning with manufacturing schedules.
You will ensure that design releases meet the necessary lead times for part deliveries.
You will serve as the Cost Account Manager (CAM) for the assigned component, managing the project’s budget, earned value, and scope.
You will monitor the financial health of the project, identifying any changes or issues that may impact the budget or schedule and reporting them accordingly.
You will lead the evaluation and development of new technologies, working with both local and international teams to assess and advance the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of components as required by the program. You will help execute the necessary plans to meet TRL goals.
You will collaborate with the IPD team to ensure that hardware procurement is initiated on time and that all production processes, including assembly tooling and production definitions, are completed to meet delivery milestones.
You will lead the verification testing of components, including reviewing requirements, preparing test procedures, and working with internal or external test facilities.
You will manage the creation of test fixtures, facilitate inspections, and oversee the testing process.
You will ensure that test data is reviewed, acceptance criteria are met, and final test reports are generated and submitted to the customer.

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
