Part-Time Assistant Coach- Softball

Position Summary and Qualifications:

Part-Time Assistant Coach/Instructor participates in coaching and instructing student-athletes who are members of the university’s intercollegiate Softball Program

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach/instruct student-athletes in the softball program.
  • Evaluate student-athlete skills; create and execute appropriate lessons to develop those skills through hands-on instruction.
  • Provide regular feedback to students about their athletic performance.
  • Participate in scouting; assist with practice and game planning.
  • Work collaboratively with the head and assistant coaches and team support staff to mentor and develop student-athletes on and off the field.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety precautions are taken during training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills including good oral and written communication abilities
  • An inclusive and servant approach to leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intercollegiate playing or coaching experience

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

  • Ability to participate and/or demonstrate drills
  • Some travel, nights and weekends related to competition
