Referral Coordinator-Senior (Mays Cancer Center)

Under limited supervision, responsible for assisting with managing the day-to-day operations of the referral office. Leads or mentors lower level team members.

Triage's patient inquiry and physician referral calls to coordinate intake of new patients.   Provides educational information in a format that is appropriate for callers not directly involved in the medical field.   Completes clinical assessment based on a phone interview with patient, family members or patient's physician.   Obtain patients records and required demographic for input into the pre-registration and new patient systems.   Comprehends and relays information about pre-clinical and clinical activities.   Performs all other duties as assigned. Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system while providing excellent service.   Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.   Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, employees and the public.   Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality and adherence to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.   Ability to act as a team leader, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows.
