Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic individual, who is energized by making things easier for customers and by bringing a ground-breaking digital solution to life, to join our Shop team as part of Digital Product Management within Cat Digital, a division of Caterpillar Inc. 

The Lead Business Analyst (BA) for our cat.com Build & Price experience is inquisitive while keeping a practical, results-driven focus on meeting user needs. They must maintain a high level of attention to detail, be self-motivated, be open to adjusting priorities based on stakeholder feedback, and work in a continuously changing environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Consults with Senior Lead BA, Business Product Owner, business partners, and partnering technical experts on the usage of technologies and/or data to improve site experience.

  • Partners with Senior Lead BA to assign user stories to BAs as appropriate each sprint cycle to balance workloads and meet deadlines; trains, assists, and guides all BAs working on the Build & Price experience

  • Creates, analyzes, and validates business requirements, translating them into detailed functional requirements and user stories, and defining acceptance criteria and test cases.

  • Documents business rules for the use of an application or process and documents security data classifications for the application or process.

  • Validates prototypes and fully developed components post investigation and development.

  • Helps Business Product Owner, Senior Lead BA, and internal partners to maintain, prioritize, and communicate backlogs based on business requirements.

  • Leads projects with moderate complexity related to dealer machine inventory and ordering technology and/or data development and adoption.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

  • Progressive experience as a digital product Business Analyst (BA) and/or job-related experience with analyzing business, systems, and user processes to create user stories that solve user needs and enhance website experiences

  • Strong customer and user focus, relationship management and ability to collaborate across a matrix organization

  • Advanced knowledge in generating business and technical process documentation

  • Previous experience with Agile methodologies and working with a cross-functional team 

  • Previous experience with digital product development within Caterpillar would be a plus

  • Proven effective communication and presentation skills, both oral and written; samples may be requested

  • Intermediate level user of Azure DevOps

  • Construction Industries machine ordering processes

  • Compact construction equipment/retail commercial strategy and processes

  • Communicating at all levels of the organization
