About the Team
Our legal team provides support to all aspects of TikTok Shop. We are looking for talented, humble, globally-minded attorneys who are technically savvy, are comfortable with ambiguity and are strong team players. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career.
This role supports TikTok Shop's US Governance and Experience (GNE) team. We are seeking a candidate with experience advising on policies related to e-commerce marketplaces, preferably with knowledge of U.S. consumer product safety requirements. The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires the use of sound judgment while navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and short turnaround times. The ideal candidate will bring a strong bias for action, ownership mindset, and enthusiasm to respond quickly to a business that is scaling fast.
Responsibilities
- Advise on the development and implementation of policies applicable to TikTok Shop sellers, creators, partners, and customers;
- Review and provide advice on digital product features related to GNE policies, with a focus on features related to seller and listing governance, fraud prevention, creator engagement, and intellectual property protection;
- Provide expert advice on U.S. consumer product testing and display requirements across multiple product categories;
- Support the business in understanding and complying with legal and regulatory requirements when launching new policies, products, features, and initiatives in the US;
- Partner closely with local and international stakeholders in legal, privacy, and public policy, to deliver projects against short timeframes, setting appropriate priorities and managing legal risk.
- Manage a small team and contribute to developing guidelines for the business, improving processes, internal training, and simplifying workflows.
