Raytheon’s Ground Radars & Platforms Center within Systems Integration & Test is seeking Engineers to support one of our Air and Missile Defense programs. Every day is a different set of challenges to overcome. Whether in hardware, software, networking, or some combination of all three, you'll be stretched to learn about how our systems work and identify the sources of new and unexpected issues through lots of troubleshooting and data analysis. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts across the program.
What You Will Do-
Responsible for the organizational repair/maintenance of all communications equipment in support of Patriot Fire Units and Battalions once units are engaged with ongoing Fielding Activities to include remote Technical Support as well as occasional support to Unit Training and potential depot level repair/troubleshooting activity.
Provide support for the Major End Item (MEI) operations providing Technical Assistance, Depot or 24/7 real world operations including being on call when communications support is needed. This includes computer networking with Cisco systems equipment, OSPF routing, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN connections, Virtual Private Networking, fiber optic links, and communication packet analysis.
Provide technical assistance and “self-sustainment” training to Patriot personnel.
Provide technical advice and assistance for the testing, maintenance, repair, and operation of all ultra-high frequency / very high frequency (UHF/VHF) communications equipment and links located throughout the Patriot System to include the associated tower and COMSEC equipment.
Interface with the depot communications engineering for support as required.
Candidates for this position will be on a Short-Term International Assignment (STIA) in Poland of 6 to 11 months duration and will be deployed as part of a team of skilled personnel supporting all technical aspects of the Patriot system. Once STIA is completed, you will relocate for long term support to Andover, Massachusetts at Raytheon Site.
Qualifications You Must Have -
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with operating, maintaining, troubleshooting communications and/or networking equipment
- Minimum of 2 years of Patriot related communications experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer-
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
- Experience working on the Patriot Missile System.
- Should be skilled in troubleshooting and repair of the SINCGARS, MIDS terminals, JTIDS and similar type radios.
- Should be skilled in troubleshooting and repair of the Thales 9310, Ultra 245. Capable of being tower climb certified.
- Experience with ATDL-1, Link-11, Link-16, and PADIL operations.
- Demonstrated experience or working knowledge of CPX-200/300, MLT- 220, and international Digital Switch Multiplexing Equipment.
- Knowledge in the repair of secure digital fiber optic links and networks.
- Proficiency using commercial test equipment to input test signals, signal traces and voltages, current and resistance measurements to isolate faults and recognize solutions.
- Experience and training in IT communications, Cisco networking, and TCP/IP type LAN/WAN connections.
- Proficiency in the use of commercial test equipment and tools used in troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits is mandatory.
