Position Summary

The Sprinkler Trainee is an entry-level position designed for individuals interested in starting a career in fire sprinkler installation and service. This role works under the direct supervision of experienced sprinkler technicians and foremen to learn proper installation techniques, safety standards, and industry best practices.

This is a hands-on role focused on learning the trade — not managing crews or overseeing projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist technicians with installation, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems).

  • Support material handling, tool organization, and job site preparation.

  • Measure, cut, thread, and groove pipe under supervision.

  • Help with system layout and assembly according to blueprints and specifications.

  • Maintain clean and organized job sites.

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

  • Transport tools and materials as directed.

  • Participate in on-the-job training and apprenticeship development programs.

What You Bring

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn a skilled trade.

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, working in tight spaces).

  • Mechanical aptitude or construction experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills and professional attitude.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
