At 54, we live and breathe sport, shaping brands, building campaigns, and creating experiences that cut through. Now, through our 54 Starting Line Academy, we’re opening the door for the next generation of talent with a unique rotational scheme across our Marketing division.

Over 12 months, you’ll rotate across Marketing Strategy, Social Media, and Advertising, gaining hands-on experience, learning from industry leaders, and working on some of the biggest brands in golf and beyond. This is your chance to build a foundation in sports marketing and discover where your skills shine.


WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE

🔹 Marketing Strategy

This is where it all begins. Strategy is the backbone of every campaign we deliver, and you’ll see first-hand how it takes shape.
 What you’ll do:

  • Research audiences and gather insights with our Data & Insights team.
  • Support the creation of marketing strategies and campaign plans.
  • Help manage client accounts and coordinate with activation teams (Earned, Paid, Social).
  • Contribute to creative ideation sessions and brand planning.
What you’ll learn:

  • How to turn data into direction, shaping strategies for world-class brands.
  • The fundamentals of campaign planning, brand development and client management.
  • How an integrated agency brings ideas to life across multiple teams.
🔹 Social Media

The fastest-moving space in sports marketing, and the front line of fan engagement. Here, you’ll learn how to keep audiences talking and brands trending.


 What you’ll do:

  • Help run day-to-day social channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Draft posts, plan content calendars and contribute fresh ideas.
  • Support live event coverage, capturing content, posting in real-time and engaging with fans.
  • Collaborate with creative, production and influencer teams to bring campaigns to life.
  • Track performance and help spot what’s working (and what’s not).
What you’ll learn:

  • The full cycle of social media: strategy, creation, publishing, engagement, and reporting.
  • How to adapt tone of voice across platforms.
  • Practical skills in content creation, storytelling, and community building.
  • What it takes to deliver high-impact social campaigns around major sporting events.
🔹 Advertising

Get to grips with the channels that put brands in front of fans worldwide. In Advertising, you’ll explore the media planning and buying process across TV, OOH, digital and social.
 What you’ll do:

  • Research audiences and markets to inform paid media strategies.
  • Assist with planning and activating campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Monitor and optimise campaigns against agreed KPIs.
  • Support in analysing results and pulling reports for clients.
What you’ll learn:

  • How to run paid media campaigns end-to-end, from planning to activation to reporting.
  • The differences between channels, audiences and formats, and how to use them effectively.
  • How performance data informs creative strategy and campaign optimisation.
  • A solid grounding in the paid media landscape and user behaviour online.
