We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Quality Engineer role to support our Florence, SC plant. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right candidate to gain valuable experience with a greenfield operation and contribute to a growing company.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Develops programs and initiates activities to assure maintenance of an acceptable quality management system. Monitors quality performance and resolves issues. Recommends improvements to enhance departmental operation and prevent customer quality problems.  Contributes to building brand value and achieving enduring profitable growth.

  • Responsible for the development and management of comprehensive quality systems to ensure process driven continuous improvement utilizing the disciplines of IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 to maintain AESC’s IATF certificate and advance towards VDA 6.3 compliance.
  • Schedule and complete company-wide quality system audits.  Assist in development of CAR for internal audit findings.  Training and development of internal audit team.  Lead representative for customer and certification audits.  Ensure adherence to customer requirements and related employee training.
  • Defines and establishes market-focused quality targets for all assigned products or processing plans. Supports quality target development by generating and analyzing similar part history information (such as customer comments, warranty claim data, field reports and from innovative resources, when required).
  • Leads and supports quality system or product quality improvement activities, using innovative methods, when necessary, to meet product launch. Identifies quality system, product quality or cost improvement opportunities that may further benefit AESC.
  • Identifies product or vehicle processing quality issues in the market, (including, but not limited to monthly warranty review and other established and innovative means, when necessary) investigates and determines need and responsibility for corrective action, initiates corrective action request, develops and issues appropriate field communication and confirms effective resolution.
  • Conducts job functions with minimal guidance and follow-up. Leads and delegates various responsibilities, as required, to project core team members or vehicle processor. Outlines and reports on completion status, open issues, action plans, problem analysis (including departmental or core team process issues) and makes recommendations to the core team, manager, quality assurance and core team management, if required, at planned milestones. Consults and supports other engineers in the above.


OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job) 

Performs all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner. 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience): 

Knowledgeable in AESC and worldwide leading quality standards and have firm practical knowledge. Analytical thinking, communication, interpersonal and implementation skills. Must be certified by ASQ or IRCA as a quality auditor or engineer.

Experience:
 
 

  • At least 5 years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience working in manufacturing.

  • At least 2 years of relative battery experience

  • Detailed understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.3.

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with good written and verbal communication skills and Data Driven Decision-Making skills.  

  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier experience a plus.
