The base pay scale for this position is $22.53 - $34.27. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. JOB DESCRIPTION
Implant Longevity Clinical Research Assistant at the Hospital for Special Surgery
The Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement Division at the Hospital for Special Surgery invites all interested and qualified individuals to apply for a full-time funded clinical research assistant position with the Implant Longevity and the Knee Service. These research years are a great opportunity for anyone interested in the field of orthopaedic surgery and highly motivated to deepen their knowledge in research.
The Implant Longevity Research group and Knee Service is currently focused on the biological, biomechanical and surgical techniques that contribute to the long-term success of joint replacement surgery. Core areas of investigation include learning how we can promote better bone growth and healing, selecting increasingly personalized implant materials and designs and leveraging new technologies ranging from robotic approaches, sensors, to artificial intelligence, all in service of preventing implant failure for arthroplasty patients here at HSS and around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Collecting data on research subjects via review of patient charts, imaging, etc. and maintenance of databases
- Screening, consenting/ recruiting patients, and acting as a resource for study participants
- Scheduling and conducting study related visits
- Drafting and submitting IRB proposals
- Maintaining regulatory binders and submitting IRB continuing reviews
- Perform literature reviews
- Work with PI and methodologists to develop research hypotheses, and protocols
- Data collection and management
- May collect human samples from subjects, depending on the protocol.

Experience:
- Experience with statistical analysis and/or coding is a plus
- Proficient use of computers and software Working of knowledge of Microsoft Excel is strongly desired; Word, PowerPoint, EDC, EMR (preferably EPIC)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Knowledge of Orthopaedic and/or Rheumatologic terminology is preferred
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
