OnsiteThe Collins Aerospace Mission Systems Integrated Strategic Solutions (ISSE) engineering team is seeking co-ops for summer and fall of the 2025 year. Our Mechanical Engineering co-ops participate in the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. You will learn to work closely with fellow Mechanical Engineers as well as Systems, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run June - December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity
What You Will Do:
With technical supervision, apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.
Work with engineers and designers to produce models for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
With technical oversight, execute tests for systems, subsystems, and components. Analyze test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives.
Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team.
What You Will Learn:
Collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team to create successful designs.
How to follow appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development programs.
Documentation of development, analysis, and test data.
Processes associated with the various phases of the product development cycle.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering (3rd year or greater preferred).
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to security investigations/reinstatements.

Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software.
