Production-Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Main Missions

The Production- Manufacturing Engineering Manager will plan and direct overall site engineering activities.  This individual will coordinate the site engineering teams in the creation, development, design and continuous improvement of manufacturing process and procedures.

Essential job functions

• Coordinate continuous improvement, equipment reliability and productivity improvement activities.
• Identify resource gaps and help resolve issues across the plant.
• Covert data to actionable projects to produce results to improve process performance.
• Prepare/review capital and expense forecasts and address variance issues.
• Coordinate cross functional teams to drive business and organizational results.
• Ensure all projects adhere to acceptable engineering practices and compliance regulations, are appropriately staffed, and are run within budget.
• Assist with troubleshooting problems, discrepancies and investigations of nonconformance.
• Develop standard operating procedures.

Abilities

• Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar 
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of people management experience.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma tools.  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve major technical issues.
  • Must have the ability to function in a team based manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills.
