Position Overview                                                       

The parts runner is responsible for delivery and pick up of parts and equipment from various locations.  When not running parts, the worker assists in the parts room with inventory stocking, filing and paperwork and general clean-up.

 

Wage: $19 - $28/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Pick-up and deliver parts from plants, corporate vendors and job sites.
  • Drive pick-up truck, flatbed truck or truck with trailer.
  • Puts away parts on shelves in Parts Department
  • Sweep and clean shop and surrounding areas, empty garbage.
  • May start vehicles, check fluids, and wash vehicles.
  • File paperwork
  • Performs Daily Inspections of the shop and surrounding area.
  • Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Similar combination of education and experience preferred.

 

Knowledge/Skill/Work Requirements

  • Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators, and other employees.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  • Must pass physical exam and pre-employment-controlled substance testing.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
