JOB OVERVIEW

MartinFed has an opening for a Senior Systems Architect. The Senior Systems Architect will perform complex and advanced architecture work in the design, evaluation, planning, testing, and operation of IT and AV systems in support of system development, engineering analysis, and research. This role leads the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure optimal performance across the total system. The architect will collaborate with senior technical personnel, program managers, and external organizations in planning, oversight, execution, and evaluation of multiple complex technical solutions. This position requires applying broad and intensive knowledge of scientific principles across one or more technical disciplines and serving as a liaison on technical matters with staff and customers. The role also supports Authorization to Operate (ATO) and accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with security and performance requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead system architecture efforts, including design, development, integration, and performance evaluation of IT/AV systems.
  • Advise on planning, directing, and managing advanced IT/AV capabilities and comprehensive design packages.
  • Develop database architecture diagrams, infrastructure schematics, detailed network diagrams, block connection diagrams, wireline diagrams, rack elevation diagrams, and configuration management plans.
  • Manage baseline and future-state stakeholder requirements for complex IT/AV projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Utilize software tools such as CAD, Visio, Bluebeam, and similar programs for system design and documentation.
  • Support ATO and accreditation processes, ensuring adherence to cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including preparing and delivering executive-level presentations and demonstrations.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert, advising on best practices and innovative solutions to meet complex system challenges.
  • Ensure systems are designed to meet performance, reliability, scalability, and security standards throughout their lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizen with a Top Secret Clearance w/ SCI Eligibility.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering).
  • Must possess 8+ years related experience in Federal Government IT/AV systems.
  • Ability to work in and foster a fast-paced collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with dozens of different teams across a large and diverse environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Planning, directing, and managing specific complex IT/AV capabilities and comprehensive IT/AV design packages, create database architecture diagrams, infrastructure schematic drawings, detailed network, block connect, wireline diagrams, rack elevation diagrams and configuration management plans.
  • Management of baseline and future-state requirements gathering process for specific IT/AV capabilities in projects.
  • Significant experience with capability specific tracking of software programs (i.e. CAD, Vizio, etc.).
