Senior Logistics Coordinator

Summary

CHS Inc. is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Fargo! This role will be focused on scheduling and dispatch for our local driver team.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with carriers and customers.
• Collaborate with sales and logistics staff, CHS Transportation, and outside vendors to ensure service to our customers meets expectation and quickly resolve issues.
• Communicate with team and provide real-time updates on shipping schedules, production needs, scheduling conflicts, customer requests, and assist with invoice questions.
• Monitor freight rates; maintain accurate records of freight rates, fuel surcharge and insurance for each carrier. Assign carriers based on best rates.
• Take orders/changes from customers and assign carrier, schedule with plant for production.
• Assist merchants and sales staff directly and indirectly with accounting, contract applications and pricing.
• Compile and distribute quarterly shipment volumes and trends report as well as relevant accessorial charges for various partnes.
• Confirm, enter and file shipment documents for plant partners and merchandising origins which are not automated.
• Coordinate empty and loaded logistics at both loading origins and receiving destinations.
• Create final shipment documentation (bill of lading) by compiling, filing, sorting and establishing data priorities to meet deadlines.
• File and negotiate loss and damage claims.
• Maintain and create daily reports and loading schedules.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics
• High School diploma or GED
