The Opportunity 

 

We are seeking a Milk Procurement, Farm Practices & Dairy Sustainability Manager to lead our supplier relationships with dairy farms and ensure a reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective milk supply. This role plays a critical part in supporting plant operations while advancing sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives across our dairy network

 

Essential Functions

The Skills you will bring to the team

Milk Supply & Supplier Management

  • Manage relationships with dairy farm suppliers to ensure consistent milk supply to the plant
  • Coordinate supply planning to meet production needs and manage seasonal variability
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for farm partners and resolve supply issues

 

Quality, Compliance & Farm Practices

  • Ensure farms meet quality, regulatory, and animal welfare standards
  • Partner with Quality and Operations teams to address and resolve issues
  • Support implementation of farm practice standards across the supplier network

 

Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive dairy sustainability initiatives, including environmental and farm practice programs
  • Partner with farms to improve operational and sustainability outcomes
  • Support corporate ESG goals and reporting requirements

 

Cost & Contract Management

  • Support milk pricing, supplier agreements, and cost optimization efforts
  • Monitor market trends and supply dynamics to inform procurement strategies

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of five years related experience; or equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Minimum of ten years direct dairy experience with a working knowledge of dairy operation
  • Good understanding of animal husbandry practices
  • Maintain NMPF FARM certified evaluator
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus due to potentially working with Spanish only speaking dairy employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
