Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is the manufacturer of ACES Ejection Seats, a critical life-saving device for military fighter, bomber and trainer aircraft. When abandoning the aircraft is the only option, the ACES Ejection Seat will safely eject the aircrew from the stricken aircraft once initiated by the aircrew while minimizing any potential for further injury. Since fielding in the 1970s, Collins Aerospace ejection seats have saved over 800 pilots and aircrew.
What You Will Do
Determine and plan the sequence of operations and documents manufacturing standard work and routing
Determine the most efficient sequence of operations and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
Assure processes, including equipment, fixture design, routings, programming, tooling, and standard work support our production lines and meet all applicable drawing requirements
Continuously improve quality and productivity using the CORE Operating System
Provide technical support for serving as liaison between Value Streams, Quality Assurance, EH&S and Design Engineering and voice of Manufacturing/Manufacturability in Design Reviews
Audits manufacturability of existing products, and recommends modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints
Involved with Line Balancing (Time studies, Operator Load Cell, Process Flow and others) and Lean Manufacturing (VSM, Kaizen, Kanban, One Piece Flow, Material presentation, Visual Management) projects
Conducts analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment to diagnose failures
Leads root cause analysis for product quality concerns
Develop solutions to a variety of Industrial Engineering problems
Develop tools that enable manufacturing, aid process improvement or address safety or ergonomic concerns
Research new processes, methods, and equipment and make recommendations to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas of the factory
Design, develop, and improve station loading/line balancing
Supporting manufacturing line daily with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes, etc.
Dispositioning non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
May support Original Equipment, Aftermarket Support items or (MRO) Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of fielded product
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
1-2 yrs experience in manufacturing role
