Position Summary:
Under immediate supervision, coordinates the activities of daily operations of clinical research studies. Responsible for the screening, consenting, recruitment, and selection of patients for studies. Prepares IRB and/or CCI documentation and submissions in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and /or other members of the research team. Conducts data collection activities and prepares analytical reports regarding the results of studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages patient consent and recruitment through interviews and written communications, providing detailed study information and evaluating candidate suitability based on clinical knowledge.
- Serves as a liaison for families and patients throughout all study phases, coordinating follow-up visits and addressing participant concerns.
- Prepares and submits documentation for IRB and CCI approvals, collaborating with the Principal Investigator and ensuring correct procedures.
- Creates data collection reports and analytical summaries for the research team, including writing articles and summary papers for medical journals as needed.
- Coordinates activities between hospitals and research labs, ensuring adherence to project policies, testing protocols, and consistency in data collection and informed consent procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
- Excellent writing skills are essential.
- Ability to maintain participant data confidentiality and adhere to study protocol.
- Experience and comfort using computer applications (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) (essential), data management tools (REDCap), statistical software (SPSS, etc.), and website management tools (preferred).
- Ability to take initiative, work without direct supervision, multitask, and work on multiple projects with changing deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
