Chadwick School is seeking a dependable, proactive, and community-oriented School Safety Officer to support campus traffic management and parking enforcement, provide general support to Facilities and Maintenance, and contribute to a safe and welcoming school environment.
This position is ideal for someone who excels at multitasking, enjoys engaging with others, and can calmly manage vehicle and pedestrian flow, especially during busy drop-off and pick-up times. In addition to traffic-related responsibilities, this individual will provide hands-on support to the Facilities and Maintenance team and assist in overall campus safety monitoring.
Primary Responsibilities
Traffic & Parking Management
- Direct and monitor daily student drop-off and pick-up to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.
- Assist with large events by coordinating temporary traffic patterns and parking logistics.
- Actively manage vehicle flow during arrival and dismissal to ensure student and pedestrian safety
- Provide a visible and friendly presence to guide drivers, pedestrians, and visitors during peak hours.
Facilities & Maintenance Support
- Assist with minor facilities-related tasks such as unlocking doors, delivering supplies, setting up for events, and reporting maintenance issues.
- Support the Facilities and Maintenance team during emergencies, drills, or special projects.
