We are seeking DevOps Engineers to support our OneKube teams! 

Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We play an essential role in establishing practices for building technology solutions across the company, while also delivering capabilities that exemplify those practices.
 

Our team provides a self-service Kubernetes provisioning platform for the enterprise, utilizing cutting-edge cloud native tooling such as Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS ECS and Fargate. You'll be developing Kubernetes operators and other tooling that enables our small engineering team’s management of fleets of Kubernetes clusters across Capital One. You will have the opportunity to build on customer facing platforms, enabling software delivery across Capital One. The teams we support constitute a wide range of domains, including our Commercial bank, data analysis and machine learning divisions. Providing teams the ability to quickly and easily deploy their applications and utilizing cutting edge technology in automated ways is an important part of our work.

We focus on developer experience, managing success for our customer products and portfolios, and creating experiences that enable associates to deliver on Capital One’s mission.
 

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment

• Utilize programming languages like Go, Python, Groovy, and OPA/Rego.

• Utilize Container Orchestration services including Docker, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Kyverno

• Work in Automation tooling including Jenkins

• Apply Monitoring services such as NewRelic

• Utilize CM tools including Terraform and CloudFormation

• A variety of AWS tools and services including EKS, ECS, and Lambda

• Assist in building out the management API layer and control plane for the platform

• Collaborate with external teams to define requirements and plan work

• Ensure vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvements

• Contribute improvements to our existing Kubernetes operators

• Design and implement new automation pipelines and CICD processes 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree 

• At least 6 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

• At least 4 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

• At least 6 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

• At least 4 years of experience in people management

Preferred Qualifications:

• 9+ years of DevOps Engineering experience

• 6+ experience with coding and scripting (Golang, Python, Bash, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Perl or Ruby)  

• 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation and delivery

• 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools (NewRelic, Splunk or Zabbix)

• 3+ years of experience with Container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes

• 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
