Our Oracle Health Data Insights (HDI) platform team is seeking a passionate, energetic and curious Principal Software Engineer to join our organization. HDI is a new diverse team, driven to build a premier health data platform with intelligent services to improve individuals’ health. As a Senior Principal Software Engineer, you will help adapt or replace our existing platforms, while ensuring the highest levels of system insights and stability for HDI. You will accelerate cloud migration and architectural enhancement. You will be responsible for defining the control-plane for the cloud and the product layers built within.

 

Healthcare applications are mission critical, requiring the highest levels of availability, observability, and recovery. The scope is global; you’ll have the ability to impact the lives of people across nations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and support Oracle Health Data Insights control-plane.
  • Be a technical lead and direct complex, cross-functional projects.
  • Analyze and understand internal stakeholder use cases, transition those into outcomes.
  • Drive the team towards building a scalable and performant Cloud management platform.
  • Direct root cause analysis of critical business and production issues.
  • Able to own and drive best practices and to decompose tasks within the teams.
  • Partner with internal organization to provide secure, efficient, world class software.
  • Be personable and strive to deliver a world class experience.

 

Required Experience:

  • Track record of designing, building, and maintaining software at scale.
  • Prior senior-level software engineering experience at a startup, or mid to large sized corporation.
  • Prior experience using and expanding Kubernetes (controllers, operators, metrics collectors, webhooks, etc.).
  • Prior experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (provisioning, terraform, ansible, lifecycle management, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, to drive designs and outcomes.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Python, Go, or Java programming language proficiency.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems.
  • Willingness to act as the subject matter expert, tracking technology/industry trends, and to provide data-driven reasoning for technology paths.

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
