Job Description
Job Summary:
Assisting the Maintenance & Engineering Manager with the coordination of day-to-day maintenance activities, including both reactive and preventative measures to increase production machine availability and throughput, while decreasing operational overhead.
Salary Range: $90,000 to $125,000
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Maintenance manpower allocation & staffing
- Utilizes a hybrid of reactive and preventative maintenance programs
- Machine breakdown response & troubleshooting with an analytical yet urgent approach
- Shutdown planning and coordination of outage activities
- Oversight over maintenance schedule and work order planning
- Identification and procurement of replacement parts for old and new machinery
- Critical spares inventory management
- Adherence to and monitoring of KPI metric goals (CPT, MHPT, Uptime%, etc.)
- Cradle to grave project management
- Employee time sheets & vacation approval
- Root cause analysis
- Develop and enforce irreversible corrective actions for chronic issues
- Life cycle tracking
- Continuous improvement of component MTTF
- Downtime reduction/machine reliability
- Implementation of robust, repeatable systems
- Collaboration and communication with supervisors and managers of all departments within the confines of the McWane Way
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university with an applicable major
- 5 to 10 years related experience in heavy industry/manufacturing
- Must be able to interact with all personnel levels
- Must work with others in a professional, respectful manner
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, specifications, maps, surveys, project schedules, cost reports, and other documents; understanding of contract provisions which address scope of work and design criteria
- Possess sound working knowledge and the proper applications of various types of pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearing assemblies, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, cooling towers, blowers, structural members, couplings, valves, actuators, piping, and other mechanical components
- Knowledge of estimating, construction costs and cost control procedures, and scheduling.
- Understanding of local, state, federal (including OSHA), and company safety and environmental regulations, codes, and requirements related to the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to follow all work directives and safety procedures
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be able to speak, read and understand English
