About the role

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate in New York to join Bernstein’s Large-Cap Biopharma team. If you are a natural leader, have a passion for research, and are interested in building a long-term career in the investing world, there’s no better place than Bernstein. We seek candidates who love to solve problems, analyze data, and are passionate about in-depth fundamental analysis. We offer a unique opportunity to become an industry expert as you work alongside a Senior Analyst who is an industry veteran and will mentor and develop you. This role offers a path to more senior roles within Bernstein.

Our Senior Research Associates play an important role in producing the research Bernstein is famous for: unbiased, independent, thematic, collaborative, data-driven, and always differentiated. You will develop relationships across the investing community and become a thought partner to our clients. You will work closely with your team but also have a high degree of autonomy and independence.

What You'll Do:

  • Become an industry expert working one-on-one with a Senior Analyst who has years of prior industry experience in consulting and management roles

  • Become highly proficient at in-depth analysis of your companies, stocks, and industry themes

  • Author highly differentiated written research that is famous for its deep industry insights and quantitative frameworks, including our signature Blackbook product

  • Become adept at financial forecasting, including building detailed forward-looking models

  • Build strong relationships across the investing community including our sales and trading teams and institutional clients

  • Build a network within the biopharmaceuticals industry including senior managements of your companies

  • Act as team COO and actively manage the franchise’s workflow

We have an outstanding Associate program and make a strong commitment to developing our Senior Research Associate talent. Our culture is intellectually rigorous, but also very collegial and fun. We have robust learning and development programs as well as annual offsite events. We offer a flexible work schedule, but our in-office environment is very active.

Our Senior Research Associates are highly involved in (and often lead) our firm’s cultural initiatives, ranging from health & wellness, community service, mentoring, employee resource groups, social events, and Associate leadership.
