This Senior Systems Engineer role automates internal business systems to provide advancements in disaster recovery and business continuity for a fast-growing SaaS-based organization using infrastructure as code techniques. Legacy knowledge of Linux and Windows is integral to the success of this position. This automation engineer provides technical proficiency in efficiently completing projects and tasks for the rest of the business as a member of a technology support and services team. This role is a self-starter and collaborates within IT, with peer groups, and with vendors to provide world-class computing platforms. This role will participate in the on-call rotation providing 24/7 coverage.
Required for this role is a high energy, experienced, and self-motivated cloud-focused engineer who is responsible for secure operations, automation, and management of computing platforms in Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. This role is key in further developing the resiliency of critical and ancillary systems required to support the needs of the enterprise. The successful engineer is an advanced technical subject matter expert who can apply knowledge and research to deliver innovative solutions to the business, including automation at every opportunity. Strong documentation skills are required as this role is an escalation path for lower support tiers.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Automating all processes, to the extent possible, for managing the enterprise cloud infrastructure
- Excellent communications skills and customer service attitude

- Supports Identity Management platforms
- Performs advanced configuration of servers and desktops and devices
- Performs advanced troubleshooting of virtual compute platforms
- Monitors systems and assists in performing corrective action or remediation
- Focuses on scripting and automation development with an emphasis on infrastructure resiliency
- Designs and maintains compute solutions derived from architecture standards and design template
- Proactively identify tools and processes to prevent or shorten outages
- Establishes design standards and patterns to meet business needs
- Zero-day CVE resolution through automation
- Work in partnership with Info Sec and Product teams
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate security into the automation pipeline.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience is required
- Microsoft and Linux certifications
Experience
- Extensive experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban process and environments
- Linux (Ubuntu)
